Nowadays, one can use social media to reach a great number of people, promote trends from countries all over the world, and allow people to learn more about the human interactions on the environment. It is like any other media such as newspaper, radio and television but it is far more than just sharing information and ideas. Social media websites like Facebook has transformed the society into a global village where people can interact freely in a span of a second. However, like everything in life, Facebook has its drawbacks. Social media can be used for cyberbullying and harassment, allow communication for terrorist groups like ISIS, and create disruption for students during schoolwork or study. The goal of this paper is to identify how social media affects society, culture, and nature.
