Simon Sinek on Millennials in the Workplace
Millennials are group of people born in 1984, and they are tough to manage. They are unfocused, lazy, self-interested, and entitled. Millennials like leadership so much which brings to the question what they actually want. Millennials wants to work in a place with purpose, make impact, and want free food. The generation of millennials grew up to failed parenting strategy because their parent told them they were special. Millennials, are so engaged in social media which gives them a lot of disadvantage in the society because it causes lack of concentration. They environment which Millennials are placed in is not helping them at all. This environment is not helping them build their skills, overcoming the digital challenge of the world, build the impact they really want to, their confidence and the social skills they are missing out on. Millennials try to blame themselves because they think it’s all their fault whereas is not, but the corporate environment and the total lack of good leadership causes it. Company need to work extra hard to help them. for example, no cell phone during conference meeting, making them exercise patience and showing them love and comfort.
