Bilingualism is an understanding of two or more languages relating from an individual to a society while Second language is defined as an additionally learned language to a language a person first learned as a child. Every individual have dissimilar bilingual features. The dissimilarities include the potential and skills in using language. Bilingualism is actually expressing oneself without difficulty in two languages. People mostly become bilingual due to the need of today because which the degree of bilingualism vary from one and another. This further narrowed the gap and helps them to become a good citizen. Nowadays children, teenagers or adults are fascinated to learn second language as there is much exposure when looking for jobs, tourism etc. Being bilingual has its perks. One of the main advantage include accessing to larger world as one can step into a different culture and can able to communicate with different people. They are having the ability to stay alert and are more focused. They are better at multitasking and can switch from one activity to other faster. Bilingualism also creates more job opportunities, has a positive impact on one’s social life. Survival in a different environment is easy due to relatively less communication barrier. Being able to write and read in one or more languages opens the door of new literature and traditions. Being a bilingual also creates tolerance for other cultural groups. The difference in language and culture between different areas has been from the start. The drawbacks of being bilingual include it can make one wonder where one belongs, sometime bilinguals finds difficult to express the feelings as one cannot find appropriate vocabulary.
