The authoritative leadership style is best used in situations when a company or followers seem to be drifting aimlessly.
Leadership style :
There are many ways to lead and every leader has his or her own style. Some of the more common styles include autocratic, bureaucratic, democratic, and laissez-faire
Authoritarian leadership:
This style is used when leaders tell their employees what they want done and how they want it accomplished, without getting the advice of their followers. Some of the appropriate conditions to use this style is when you have all the information to solve the problem, you are short on time, and your employees are well motivated.
Bureaucratic leadership style:
The leader ensures that everything must be done according to procedure or policy , if things are not done according to the book, the manager refers to the next level above him or her.
Should be used when:
Employees are performing routine over, safety or security training is being conducted.
Should be avoided when:
Employees do only what is expected of them and nothing more.
Employees lose their interest their jobs in their fellow workers.
Democratic leadership style :
Democratic leadership style is a leadership style in which employees have a say and input into decisions that effect the business. It allows workers a high degree of participation in the decision making processing as well as open communication channels between workers and management.
Laissez-fair leadership:
In this style, they leader allows the employees to make the decision . However, the leader is still responsible for the decision that are made. This is used when employees are able to analyze the situation and determine what needs to be done and how to do it.
You cannot do everything! You must set priorities and delegate certain tasks.
