Olauda Equiano was a slave since he was 13

Olauda Equiano was a slave since he was 13. When he reached 21 he was able to buy himself out of slavery. In the story he goes to tell us about how he felt being a slave and what it was like to be a slave on a ship. He was starved, sicknesses surrounded him and he was mistreated. He also describes what he had to do every day.
Ben Banneker’s letter to Thomas Jefferson was thought of as a protest in literature. He was writing an almanac to secretary of state Thomas Jefferson in recognition on how abolishing slavery should be. Banneker thought that Jefferson should agree with him that slavery is cruel and was nothing but misery.
