Burce Tuckman – Tuckman developed a idiom that most of us will remember as “Forming, storming, norming and performing” that is described as how teams develop into becoming high performing teams.Tukman recognized that team development takes it time and when understanding the challenges that the “Forming, storming , norming and performing” bring as a manager you will be able to develop and be patient with your new team and team members.
Forming At this stage most team members are polite , some may be anxious and are still trying to understand there new role. As a manager I would automatically play a dominating role due to the new team members learning their role and responsibilities. This role can last for a while as the new staff members are getting to know each other and the organization.
