What is the concept of federalism? First let’s get a better understanding of what it means: Federalism- basically is about of government power that is divided between a central government and regional government. So, what is the concept? Federalism has been an issue since the beginning, and still remains one especially in Texas and other states as well. States have always done much of its everyday control. Federalism concept is a way to bring smaller entities to gain greater possibilities and outcome. It is a stepping stone to allow the national government control over certain areas in the state, but also allows the states control as well. There has to be a compromise between national and regional government. I guess you can say the hands of the centralize government will always be priority in most cases. State interest were protected in many ways: especially where the senate is concerned. The state received equal representation, which is good when you are up against the national government as they probably did not see issues in the same light as that particular state. State also had control to tax, have a military inforce, and were able to control commerce.
