State Whether Or Not You Think the Resurrection Accounts in the Bible Are Supported By the Evidence Discussed By Groothuis
The resurrection accounts in the Bible are supported by Groothuis’ evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. Groothuis evidence states that Christianity is based on the resurrection of Jesus (Geisler, 2013). Groothuis produces evidence to support the virgin birth of Jesus and the resurrection story against other arguments that the virgin birth and the resurrection story were stolen from other religions (Geisler, 2013). Groothuis argues that Christianity religion has a strong evidence of the resurrection of Jesus and this evidence alone is able to increase Christian followers because this gives hope to its members about resurrecting and going to heaven (Geisler, 2013). The miracle of resurrection gives evidence of a powerful God who is able to perform extreme miracles like giving back life to the dead. Groothuis argues that the resurrection of Jesus is the most convincing evidence for any one and the motivating factor for Christians in preaching the gospel of Christ (Geisler, 2013).
Groothuis states the resurrection miracle was a supernatural act by God to establish his kingdom on earth as it was against the laws of nature (Geisler, 2013). According to the Bible, the story of the resurrection of Jesus provides clear evidence that it was a miracle as Jesus was conceived through a virgin birth, was crucified, buried, and on the third day, he resurrected and appeared to the apostles (Mathew 28, King James Version). This is evidence of the missing body of Jesus. Jesus also appeared to Joseph of Arimathea after resurrection (Luke 11:47-48).

The resurrection of Jesus had been prophesied in the Old Testament. Evidence to support the resurrection of Jesus is through the transformation of the apostles who were now bold and more courageous in the spreading the story of Jesus and others were even persecuted but this did not discourage them (Gerald, 2014). Through the willingness to die, it is evidence of the new believe they had found. After the resurrection of Jesus, Christianity religion has been increasing up to today and some of the acts of Jesus are still witnessed today, which include baptism, the Lord’s Supper, and the celebration of Easter holiday, which is a remembrance of the death and the resurrection of Jesus (Gerald, 2014).
Does the Evidence For the Resurrection Provide Strong Enough Evidence On its Own For a Person To Be Justified In Believing In God, Or Must At Least Some of the Other Arguments That We Have Explored Be Found Convincing In Order To Make the Resurrection Itself Plausible? Can the Evidence For the Resurrection Increase the Plausibility of These Other Arguments?
The evidence of the resurrection provides strong evidence on its own for a person to be justified in believing in God. This is because no other religion has such convincing evidence about their beliefs as the religious and transformational experiences by believers confirm the whole story of Jesus (Gerald, 2014). Jesus’ promises after he left the world are still experienced today by believers and the growth of the Christian religion witnessed after the resurrection of Jesus until today is convincing enough for any person to believe in God (Gerald, 2014). The evidence for the resurrection decreases the probability of other arguments to be reasonable. The resurrection story cannot be explained by natural explanations or science. This explains that the resurrection story is a supernatural act performed by a higher being who is God. There is a lot of documentary evidence to support the resurrection story, which increases its credibility (Gerald, 2014).
