Over 10,000 different dyes are commercially available with a total annual production of approximately 7 x 105 MT (Pathania et al., 2013). It is estimated that 15% or approximately 1.05 x 105 of these dyes are lost in industrial effluents during the manufacturing and processing operations (Auta & Hameed, 2011; Aksu, Tanaci, & Tunc; Agarwal, Gupta, Pathania, & Singh, 2012).
2.2 CHARACTERISTICS OF DYE WASTEWATER
2.3 ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS OF DYE WASTEWATER
Environmental pollution is one of the main and most crucial problems of the world. The greatest environmental polluters are the industries, such as textile industry which produces high liquid effluent pollutants since large amounts of water is used in fabric processing. (Pereira, & Alves, 2011).
