Martyrdom of Hazrat Hanzla (Ghaseel-al-Malaika) R.A
Hazrat Hanzala (??? ???? ?????? ???) Ibn-e- Abi Amir belonged to the Banu Aus, a tribe of the Ansar. He embraced Islam and martyred in the battle of Uhud.
At the battlefield of Uhud, it was the second battle between the Muslims and the disbelievers. The polytheists felt their defeat and started running. In the meantime, Hazrat Hanzala saw Abu Sufyan, who had not yet been Muslim. He rushed towards Abu Sufyan and attacked him with his sword. Resultantly, the horse got injured and fell on the ground along with Abu Sufyan. He cried for help. An infidel, Aswad bin Shaddad rushed to help him and attacked Hazrat Hanzala (??? ???? ?????? ???) that resultantly caused his martyrdom.
When his martyrdom mentioned before the Holy Prophet ?, He said, “I see that the angels are giving him the bath in silver vessels with the fresh water of the rain between the heavens and the earth.”
Hazrat Abu Sayed al Sa’di narrated that when we went to him, the water drops were dripping from his head. The Messenger of Allah (?) said to his companions to inquire about him from his family.
His widow’s name was Jamila who was the sister of Abdullah Bin Abi. The people went to his widow and asked about Hazrat Hanzala. She said that Jihad announced on the day when they got married. Upon hearing the announcement of Jihad from the Holy Prophet (?), he left for it immediately without taking a due bath (ablution). After his departure, she called in four family members and told them about the sexual relationship with her husband at night to avoid any false stories later.
When she was asked about this, she replied that she dreamed that the sky opened, and he entered into heavens, then the door closed. So, I realized that he must be martyred in this battle. Later, Allah had blessed her with a son, whose name was Abdullah. As Hazrat Hanzala was purified by the angels, he got the title of bathed by angels (Ghaseel-al-Malaika ???? ????????).
